Gone To Seed

PLATFORM BRISBANE

Gone to seed is a vibrant husk-like form, that is radially segmented in section with a deep internal and external wall structure to create distinct cells. The surface is formed as a series of voids that possibly once held more. Patternation is a key driver for the work as the cells reveal both a non repeating cell shape order and a repeating larger scale radial arrangement.”

Ben Price

Gone to Seed was an in-studio collaboration between artist Stuart Green and Designer Ben Price. The sculpture was developed for the Mt Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens “Platform” project.  The Platform is a temporary display to the entry of the botanical gardens, with works displayed for a short period before being moved into permanent landscape settings within the gardens themselves.
