Six seasons

SUBI EAST

The redevelopment of Subiaco East in Western Australia called for a bidi trail to weave through the large urban site and illustrate the Wadjuk/Noongar six seasons of the year. Six artists were commissioned to develop artworks for the site, each inspired by one of the six seasons

The 6 Noongar artists worked with artist mentors Susan Flavell and Stuart Green from Big Spoon to develop their sculptural concepts for each of the seasons. Big Spoon Art Services then were commissioned to take the concept proposals from the initial mentorship phase to fully develop, engineer, fabricate and install the completed works.
